From $680 per barista-day, plus coffee at $2.00 to $2.20 a cup depending on daily volume, all ex GST. The day rate covers the barista, the La Marzocco machine, maintenance and the reporting. You choose how much of each cup to subsidise, from nothing to all of it. ### Do you offer a trial? Yes. We run four to ten week pilots with no lock-in, so your team gets the full service with a dedicated barista, premium equipment and specialty coffee, and the flexibility to tweak it as you go. If your people love it we continue. If not, there are no setup or cancellation fees. ### How do we know our workplace is ready? It is worth a conversation if you want to lift attendance or culture and you have kitchen or breakout space. Opening or renovating an office is the ideal moment. We confirm fit on the first call, and recommend the right setup for your space. ### Is there a minimum commitment period? We offer a range of commitment levels, including short-term options, so the service can flex with your needs. Most clients start with a pilot and move to an ongoing model once their team has adopted it. ### How many baristas will we need? It depends on your headcount, your peak times and how the space is laid out. We confirm the right number when we look at all three with you. ### How does this compare to pod machines or café vouchers? Pod machines run three to five dollars a cup with inconsistent quality and single-use waste. Café vouchers cost more again and send people out of the office. An in-house barista is one to four dollars a cup subsidised, consistent, sustainable, and it keeps your team in the building. ### Who usually needs to sign off on an in-house barista service? Most of our clients involve three to five people: workplace experience or facilities, HR, finance, operations, and sometimes procurement or legal. We write the proposal so each of them can see what the service covers, what it costs and how it is measured, and the pilot gives them real usage data before a longer commitment. ### Can the service change with the seasons or our attendance? Yes. We adjust service hours, barista numbers and the menu as your attendance shifts across the week and the year, from warming drinks in winter to iced options in summer, so you are not paying for more service than your floor uses. ### Do we need to provide equipment or staff? No. The service is all-inclusive: the barista, the La Marzocco machine, the beans and the menu are all ours, and we handle every part of maintenance and servicing so the equipment stays in top condition. ### How quickly can it be set up? A mobile coffee bar is live one to two weeks from approval. A custom integrated bar takes four to six weeks, including design, procurement and install. Most workplaces are operational within two to three weeks, depending on your existing kitchen infrastructure. ### What regions do you cover? We run in-house barista services across Melbourne and Sydney, from our bases in Yarraville and Annandale. Tell us where your office is and we will confirm the setup for it. ## Coffee cart hire FAQs ### What's included in your coffee cart hire? Everything. A stylish mobile cart, professional baristas, La Marzocco machines and grinders, specialty coffee, dairy and alternative milks, cups and all consumables, on-site logistics and labour, delivery and pick-up, and full insurance including public liability and food safety certification. ### Do you have public liability insurance and food safety certification? Yes. We carry $20 million public liability insurance, Food Safety Supervisor certification, safe food handling practices, and workers compensation insurance. Certificates are available on request for your venue. ### How many coffees can your baristas make? One barista serves up to 80 coffees an hour. With a second barista we double that to 160 an hour, which keeps the queue moving even at a busy conference or activation. ### What can change the price of a coffee cart? Weekend events add 15% to the weekday rate and public holidays 30%. Travel beyond 20km from our base is $3 a km. An extra barista hour is $100 on a weekday, $115 on a weekend and $130 on a public holiday. A second barista is $400 for a half day or $800 for a full weekday. All ex GST. ### Can you serve inside MCEC or ICC Sydney? Yes. We operate inside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and ICC Sydney as an external caterer. Both venues apply a loss-of-revenue charge to external catering, and we offer a partial rebate to help offset it, confirmed when we quote your event. ### What regions do you service? From our Melbourne base we cover the CBD and inner suburbs, reaching out to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula. From Sydney we cover the CBD and inner suburbs, reaching out to the Central Coast, Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Wollongong, Parramatta, Penrith and the Blue Mountains. We travel to regional Victoria and New South Wales as well. ### What's your cancellation policy? Cancellations within 30 days of the event incur a 50% fee, and within 7 days a 100% fee. Custom branded collateral is non-refundable. If we cannot deliver, or arrive more than an hour late, we refund your invoice in full. ### How far in advance should I book? Two to four weeks is the comfortable window to secure your date, especially in the September to November event season. We do take shorter-notice bookings when we have a crew free. ### How long does setup and pack-down take? The cart is running within an hour of arrival and packed down within 45 minutes after service. Our road-cases fit through any standard doorway or lift. On-site logistics and labour are included, with no hidden fees. ### Can you cater to dietary requirements? Yes. We stock full-cream and light dairy, and almond, oat and soy milk, all included in the package, along with decaf. A gluten-free slice pack is available as an add-on. ### Do you need access to power and water? We are self-sufficient and carry our own water. Standard power is two 10-amp domestic sockets for the regular cart; the larger cart uses a 20-amp outlet. Access to a water source on site is helpful for refilling but not required. ### What details do you need to quote accurately? The event location, whether power and fresh water are available, on-site parking, expected guest numbers, and the name and mobile of your on-site contact. The quick-quote form collects these so your quote is accurate the first time. ## General FAQs ### What is the difference between your two services? Workplace is an ongoing in-house barista service: a barista, machine and beans run by us on your office floor. Coffee cart hire is a mobile cafe brought to a one-off event, like a conference, activation or trade show. ### What is included in a workplace barista service? Everything needed to run the bar: a trained barista on your floor, the commercial machine and grinder, our own beans and the milks, ongoing servicing and restocking, and monthly reporting. We own and maintain the equipment; you provide the space, power and water. ### Where does Coffee on Cue operate? We have a base in Melbourne and Sydney. From Melbourne we cover the CBD and inner suburbs, reaching out to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula. From Sydney we cover the CBD and inner suburbs, reaching out to the Central Coast, Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Wollongong, Parramatta, Penrith and the Blue Mountains, and we travel regionally too. ### How do I get a quote? Tell us about your workplace or event through the enquiry form on the relevant service page, or contact us directly. We reply to every enquiry personally, usually within one business day. ### How much does it cost? A workplace barista bar works out to roughly one to four dollars a cup, most often subsidised by the employer. Coffee cart hire starts from $999 for an event, and the final figure depends on the day, the hours of service and your guest numbers. Share the details and we will quote it accurately the first time. ### Do you offer a cart without a barista (dry hire)? Yes. Alongside the full-service cart, we offer dry hire: the cart and brewing equipment with a quick setup run-through, from $550 on a weekday or $650 on a weekend, plus $100 delivery ($125 on weekends), ex GST, in Melbourne and Sydney. You can add coffee, milk and cups. It suits smaller or self-run events. ### Can you brand the cart and cups? Yes. We offer custom-branded cart panels and cups so the setup carries your brand, not ours. Branding takes about four weeks from the moment we receive your artwork. ### Can you cater for large or multi-day corporate events? Yes. For high-volume conferences, expos and activations we scale up with multiple carts and baristas to keep queues short, and we run multi-day events with the same crew each day. Share your guest numbers and run sheet and we will size it to match. ### Do you offer order-ahead technology and reporting? In workplaces we run order-ahead and self-serve kiosks, plus monthly reporting on cups, engagement and sustainability, through our Square partnership, so a managed service feels effortless. ### Are you insured and certified? Yes. We carry twenty million dollars in public liability insurance, Food Safety Supervisor certification and workers compensation. Certificates are available on request for your venue or building management. ### What coffee do you serve? We pour our own Elevate Blend, with full-cream and light dairy plus almond, oat and soy milk kept as standard. Tea, hot chocolate and cold options are available too, and events and workplaces can add food. ### How far ahead should I book? For events, two to four weeks comfortably secures your date, especially in the September to November season, though shorter notice is often possible. A workplace barista bar can be live in one to two weeks, or four to six for a custom-built bar. ### What do you need from us on site? For most setups, access to power and water and a level space for the bar or cart. We confirm the exact power and access requirements for your site before the first day, so nothing holds up the install. ### Is the coffee sustainable? We offer compostable and edible Good Edi cup options, and run a coffee-waste program that keeps used grounds out of landfill. Reusable cups are encouraged across every site we run. ### How do I join the team? We hire baristas for both workplaces and events across Melbourne and Sydney. Head to our careers page and send an application; we read every one. ## The team - [Ryan Spaccavento, Founder and CEO](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/about/team/ryan-spaccavento) - [Joey Krosch, General Manager](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/about/team/joey-krosch) - [Paul Butera, VIC Operations Manager](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/about/team/paul-butera) - [Michael Gonano, NSW Operations Manager](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/about/team/michael-gonano) - [Nicolas Mendez, Workplace BDM](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/about/team/nicolas-mendez) - [Marj Flores, Operations Assistant](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/about/team/marj-flores) ## Blog ### How to make coffee The craft behind a good cup, explained plainly by the people who pull thousands of them a week. - [How do baristas make consistent coffee for hundreds?](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/blogs/how-to-make-coffee/how-baristas-make-consistent-coffee-for-hundreds): Baristas keep coffee consistent at volume with a fixed espresso recipe, one standard cup size, careful milk work and a second barista before the queue builds. - [How to dial in espresso at home](https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/blogs/how-to-make-coffee/how-to-dial-in-espresso-at-home): Three settings decide whether a shot tastes sweet or sour.
