Accessibility statement

Coffee on Cue is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people using assistive technology. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, and we test for it automatically as part of every release.

Our conformance target

We design and build this website to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is a genuine engineering target, not a retrofit: every page is checked against it before it ships, using automated accessibility testing as a blocking step in our release process, so a page that fails cannot go live.

Motion and animation

This site uses code-driven scroll animation in a few places, including a scroll-linked sequence in the homepage hero. If your device or browser is set to reduce motion, we detect that preference and turn off every animated sequence on the site, replacing it with the same content in the same order, presented statically. Nothing on this site relies on motion to convey information.

Known exception

One area of the site currently falls short of our own target, and we would rather disclose it than leave it unstated. The text on our primary call-to-action buttons (cream text on our brand's orange fill) measures a contrast ratio of 3.96 to 1, just under the 4.5 to 1 that WCAG requires for text at that size. We chose to carry this exception knowingly, in favour of using our brand's actual colour rather than a darkened, off-brand approximation of it. We are continuing to look for a way to close this gap without compromising the colour itself.
