Ryan Spaccavento
Founder and CEOFor ten years Ryan heard the same two questions, usually minutes after a Coffee on Cue cart went up in an office in Melbourne or Sydney: when are you leaving, and could we have this here every day? He founded Coffee on Cue in 2013 to save people from bad event coffee. Those two questions turned it into something bigger.
His thinking is simple. You go to a café to reset, to meet a friend, to see a barista who knows your name and your order. Home is the first place, work the second, and the café the third, the one you choose. Coffee on Cue brings a little of that third place into the second. The feeling is hard to measure; attendance is not. At JLL, by their own survey, office days went from 2.9 to 3.4 a week.
A decade on, the company has served more than 2.5 million cups for some of Australia’s biggest organisations. Ryan also sits on the board of EO Melbourne and leads its Accelerator program, mentoring other founders as they scale.
“You can make people show up, or you can give them a reason to want to, without ever having to tell them.”
